Popular Nigerian singer Simi is going international!
The Duduke hitmaker took to social media to announce that she will be part of American Grammy-winning star Alicia Keys’ summer tour.
Alica Keys’ summer tour, dubbed ‘Keys to the Summer,’ will be happening across North America with a run of 23 dates that will kick off on June 28, 2023.
The cross-country trek will be the R&B singer’s first 360 in-the-round concert experience. The Keys to the Summer tour marks the singer’s return to touring just under a year after she wrapped the second leg of the Alicia + Keys world tour in support of her seventh and eighth studio albums Alicia and Keys, released in 2020 and 2021, respectively. Before then, she hadn’t been on an official tour since 2013’s Set the World on Fire tour.
The event is set to be completely magical and unmissable as it features two West African female artists, Simi from Nigeria and the upcoming Cameroonian artist Labianca.
Labianca found fame in 2022 after she released her single ‘People’ which became an instant hit on TikTok. The song has garnered over 82 million views on YouTube. The song has two remixes, one with Nigerian stars Omah Lay and Ayra Starr while a recent one features Latina singer Becky G with whom she performed at Coachella in April 2023.
