Nigerian star Temilade Openiyi alias Tems is the first African to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The 26-year-old who has enjoyed global is featured on US rapper Future’s hit ‘Wait For You’ that just snagged the top spot of the Hot 100. The song that also also features Drake is off of Future’s new ‘I Never Liked You’ album.
The song scores Future his second #1 song on the chart while its Drake’s 10th. It is also one of 3 songs on the album to crack the top of the Hot 100 this week, others being ‘Puffing on Zootiez’ and ‘I’m Dat N**a,’ at #4 and #10 respectively.
Tems is no stranger to the Billboard Hot 100, having achieved a top 10 with last year’s Wizkid smash, ‘Essence.’
