Nigerian Actress Annie Idibia Forced To Explain Her ‘Struggle Love’ Storyline On Young, Famous & African

Nigerian actress Annie Macaulay Idibia has received harsh criticism following the debut of the Netflix African reality series ‘Young, Famous and African.’

According to many viewers, they were not impressed by Annie’s storyline and what has been dubbed as ‘struggle love’ which saw her open up about the infidelity in ten years of her marriage to Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Baba only to take a U-turn to renew her vows.

In a bid to explain herself and the happenings of the show which has taken Africa by storm, she has accused the creators of the new Netflix show ‘Young, Famous & African’ of deleting valuable scenes that showcase other parts of her life aside from the scandals surrounding her marriage.

In a series of posts shared on her Instagram story, the actress detailed that she offered varying sides of her life while filming for four months in Johannesburg. She was, however, shocked that a huge chunk of it was taken out, leaving only her marriage and vows renewal.

” I didn’t go to SA for 4 whole months to plan a wedding! I went there for work!!! I was working my b**tt off every day in Johannesburg,” Idibia wrote.

Annie reiterated, “I gave them the mother… I gave them D tasking career woman n entrepreneur n finally gave them the wife…I gave my whole to it sadly none of those scenes made it to the show…Took out my work…The main role I play in my children’s lives and only put out my love n marriage. Regardless all in all, I am very happy about the opportunity.”

The actress was featured alongside fellow Nigerian celeb Swanky Jerry, South African stars Khanyi Mbau, DJ Naked, Nadia Nakai, Tanzania’s Diamond, and Uganda’s Zari Hassan among others on the Netflix unscripted reality show which premiered on March 18th 2022.
