New Kibera-Set Crime Series ‘Pepeta’ Makes Quite The Loud Premiere

A select-few guests, inclusive of the who-is-who in showbiz and the media were treated to a glitzy, glamorous premiere of Pepeta, a new Kibera-set Showmax crime series at Nairobi Street Kitchen.

Attendees were treated to an exclusive screening of the first episode of the 9-episode series. Pepeta depicts the true life story Harun ‘Rio’ Wathari, who was also in attendance. Run away crime characteristic of the informal statement is a prevalent in the series, with plot twist of how talent can be the much-needed saving grace.

The cast includes Capital FM’s Lassie who plays Johnte, as well as singer Avril Nyambura (who makes her return to the screen after a five-year hiatus), Malik Lemmy, Brahim Ouma, Lwanda Jawar, Dedan J. Onyango as well as director Vincent Mbaya.

Pepeta airs new episodes every Thursday on Showmax.
