Beauty cosmetic procedures are exponentially taking over the Kenyan showbiz landscape, if the latest cases in point are anything to go by.
What was once deemed a foreign ideal is hitherto as good as in our backyard. More than a handful number of popular Kenyan social media personalities have been open about going under the knife, though some remain mum about it even when their body alterations are clear as day.
The newest to join the bandwagon is businesswoman and makeup connoisseur Lucy Wambui alias Phoina – no less. The makeup artiste-cum-influencer initially teased the body procedure by disguising it as a pregnancy and had fans even sending congratulatory messages.
She would later break the news saying: “In the beginning of the year being a beauty and fashion model i was tired of people asking me if I was pregnant everytime I posted an outfit and so i knew before the year ends i will work on getting my dream body,i did my research, I knew i never wanted to travel outside.”
She has since been sharing her recovery journey, that has culminated in a full-on photoshoot to boot. While she did not divulge the exact procedure she underwent, eagle-eyed fans are convinced Phoina had both a liposuction and Brazilian butt lift done. The former is a type of surgery that uses suction to remove fat from certain areas of the body such as the stomach and thighs, while the latter entails transfer of fat from said parts to the buttocks.
