NAIROBI, Kenya, August 23, 2026 – KCB Rugby came from behind to book their slot in the final of the ongoing Driftwood 7s with a 10-5 victory over Menengai Oilers.

Former Shujaa co-captain Vincent Onyala scored the all-important try, bundling himself over the white chalk in the first minute of extra time at the Mombasa Sports Club.

Oilers has taken a 5-0 lead and were on the verge of another final appearance in this year’s National Sevens Circuit (NSC).

However, Andrew Amonde’s charges just wouldn’t give up and were duly rewarded with the leveler with the last move of the game.

From a scrum, the bankers pushed forward and were rewarded by Festus Shiasi’s try, just east of the right post.

Emmanuel Opondo could have secured victory in regular time but his conversion flew wide of the posts to take the game to sudden death extra time.

His miss mattered little as the bankers attacked ferociously from the kickoff and earned the coveted try to take them to the final, where they meet arch-rivals Kabras Sugar.
