Popular club jockey Pierra Makena is currently on the receiving end of insurmountable flack from Kenyans on X over claims of having her 8-year-old daughter Ricca Pokot accompany her to club gigs.
The social media users pointed out that the out what they consider unusual parenting by their perceived standards. Multiple tweets faulted the DJ’s actions, suggesting she was exposing her daughter to volatile and unsafe environments.
Many argued that at her age, she should be shielded more and under the confines of home under the care of a guardian while her mom is working. Further, multiple highlighted pedophilic comments on the kid’s TikTok account, showing grown men and women alike sexualizing her frequent dances and content she shares.
Pokot hosts a popular kids’ show on a local TV station, a gig that has catapulted her fame, as her mother’s stature in the industry has in equal measure.
DJ Pierra has yet to respond to the controversy.
