Nigerian Gospel singer and songwriter Sinach has set a new record in the United States’ music industry.
Born Osinachi Joseph (née Kalu), Sinach has been at number one on the USA billboard for Christian songwriter for the past over one and a half months. This makes her the first African to hold such a position in the USA billboard.
Celebrating the new feat, Sinach credited all to God. Taking to the Gram, she said “It’s not a competition however, this shows that we are making impact with what God has assigned us to. When you impact people with the gift of God influencing them for Jesus that’s something to celebrate!!”
Sinach, a senior worship leader at LoveWorld is famed for several popular gospel hit songs among them ‘Way Maker’, ‘I know who I am’, ‘He Did it Again’ and ‘Rejoice’.
Her contribution to the gospel industry globally earned her a Bethlehem Hall of Faith Certificate of Commemoration during her visit to Israel in December 2017.
Sinach has previously set other records thanks to her quality gospel songs she drops over and over again. In March 2019, an official video for her popular hit worship song ‘Way Maker’ became the third Nigerian video to garner 100 million views on YouTube behind Davido’s ‘Fall’ and Yemi Alade’s ‘Johnny’.
International artists among them Michael Smith, Darlene Zschech, and Bethel Music have also done cover songs to ‘Way Maker’.
Sinach also became the first gospel singer from Africa to tour India in September 2019. She has a new release out that has garnered nearly 500K views on YouTube.
Sinach dropped visuals for the gospel hit ‘All Things are Ready’ while celebrating her 47th birthday on March 30th.
