Women’s Rep. aka ‘Mrembo wa Laikipia’ Catherine Waruguru busted taking selfies in Parliament

Laikipia County Woman Representative Catherine Waruguru’s love for taking photographs almost landed her in trouble with House Speaker Justin Muturi.

This came after he busted her and a colleague posing for a ‘selfie’ as he was presiding over deliberations on the attendance and participation of MPs during House and Plenary Committee Sittings.

“Please don’t take photographs in the Chamber, Member for Laikipia. That selfie you are talking of yourself and the Member for Nyandarua or you wanted to show the country that you were in the Chamber,” Muturi told the MP who is fondly referred to as ‘Mrembo wa Laikipia’.

Waruguru, who is serving her first term in National Assembly has captured the lenses with her beauty and unrivaled fashion sense effectively catapulting her to popularity.

Before her election to Parliament as a Women’s Representative, Waruguru, previously held the position of Nominated Member of the Laikipia County Assembly between 2013-2017.
