It’s game on. Buckle up the ride is about to get wild! An adrenaline-heart-pounding pursuit. From gamer to racer.
Polyphony Digital developed a series of racing simulation video games, Gran Turismo which is currently in theatres worldwide. Danny Moore (Orlando Bloom) has ambition, a vision, and an opinion on having better racers and competitors for motorsport. When he teams up with Jann and Jack Salter his dream becomes a reality.
Jann Martinborough (Archie Madekwe), the main character takes goes against all odds and wins car racing. Trained by the strict tough-love coach (David Harbour) he makes his dream a reality. Kazunori Yamauchi head of the Polyphony Digital studio and creator of Gran Turismo combines imagination, effort, skill, and time to create a perfect realistic car game. His invention is used in the movie. Based on a true story type of movie, general exhibitions, and a great storyline this is a movie for anyone looking for thrills and speed.
Brace yourself for the car race scenes. Intensive sounds, engine noises, tire screeches, and the contact of the bodywork carry aggressive undertone sounds combined with creative cool camera angles. Sound and visions have never felt so real! Prepare to feel what it means to be in a motorsport race. The cleverly thought-out scene edits make GT and LMP Racing look so cool!
Dreams are meant to be worked for; it is not always as easy as it seems. The rocky ground hits hard. The climax of the story feels exactly like this. Jann is in a test to either give up or continue to race. The dilemma hits harder because he has just seen his life literally flash on him on a VLN crash. He must make a choice.
The simple plot and storyline is one that makes anyone that is in the line chasing their dreams feel that they can achieve anything. How the movie ends leaves you with a memorable feel and an unexpected end.
The plot of the story however gives a notion that drifts from reality. The protagonist is not well-defined or given depth. The life of Jann as a child that loves motorsport is not depicted to add to the magnitude of the love he has for motorsport.
Archie Madekwe brings the movie to life and shows what fear, faith, and love for motorsport feel like. The movie will make you want to be persistent and have a big heart. It is a must-watch!
