Mike Sonko’s lion statue creates twitter fodder for K.O.T and they’re less than impressed

Nairobi Governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko put up a new lion statue at the University Way roundabout as part of his Nairobi beautification project but Kenyans on Twitter are not having it.

On Wednesday and early this morning many people took to social media and wondered why the Governor would approve such a statue.

In true Kenyans on Twitter fashion, netizens criticized the statue in the most hilarious ways. Others questioned which animal the sculpture was, while others pointed out the animal looked blind or high. While others likened the beast’s appearance to that of a certain politician, others added that it was a far cry from the actual lion of the jungle and it was a failed attempt in the beautification of the city.

Some social media users further talked about an antelope statue that was erected at the Nyayo stadium that was equally bad looking. Here are some of those hilarious reactions from a Twitter thread by former Capital FM news presenter Laura Walubengo.
