Michael Jackson’s reputation continues to suffer, in the wake of the HBO ‘Leaving Neverland’ documentary.
Jackson, also known as the ‘King of Pop’ may have passed away 10 years ago, but it seems the revealing 2-part documentary is set to ruin the famed musician. Known for tracks such as ‘Man in the Mirror,’ ‘Black or White’ and even the chart-topper ‘Beat It’ Jackson continues to be the subject of discussion in various circles.
According to Ebony, “Michael Jackson memorabilia has been removed from the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.”
In a press release, a representative from the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis said “We are sensitive to our audience,” museum spokeswoman Leslie Olsen said in a statement. “In an excess of caution, and in response to the controversy over the HBO film called ‘Leaving Neverland,’ which directly involved allegations of abuse against children, we removed those objects while we carefully consider the situation fully.”
Meanwhile, the revelations from the disturbing 4-hour documentary has already cause radio stations from Canada and New Zealand to pull Jackson’s music from their rotation. In a series of unfortunate events, Drake also recently omitted M.J’s sampled voice. According to The Sauce, “Drizzy performed the mid-tempo groove featuring vocals from a 1983 song with Paul Anka during U.S. tour dates but dropped the track for his show in Northern England Sunday night. While Drake’s team gave no official reason for the setlist change, the U.S. and U.K. show had the same opening and closing numbers, with the omission of the Jackson-sampled song being the only difference.”
As fans and family continue to rally behind the Grammy-winner and his innocence, it seems difficult for his estate to escape the worrying allegations from Rob Safechuck and Wade Robson in the gripping documentary.
‘Leaving Neverland’ debuted at Sundance Film Festival on the 25th of January 2019.
