Matata And Mejja Drop Their Anticipated Collaboration, ‘Chini Chini’

Hard-hitting artistes Matata and Mejja have dropped their highly-anticipated collaboration, Chini Chini. What better day to drop a club banger than on a Friday!

As if there is less to expect from these two acts, Chini Chini is a bona fide banger. It is playful as it is witty, and  catchy as it is colorful. From Richie’s hilarious, Anapika githeri na gas, anapika chapati na pas(i), to the eargasmic Oh ah, cheza chini chini, the collab was well worth the wait.

The video has vintage elements that are ultra reminiscent of the 90’s: The nostalgic outfits and the fish-eye video technique synonymous with many of the 90’s iconic videos, a la Missy Elliot’s. Not to mention the electric choreography performed by all 5 members of the group. The playfully frolick around a house in different house, then in an office, all while dancing their tail feathers off.

Mejja  is all the rave right now so it was albeit strategic to have him on the song, suffice to say. As you would expect, his guest verse and video cameo did not disappoint, with his characteristic drink tumblr in hand.

Matata had teased the collaboration in an interview with The Sauce. ”We have a huge song with Mejja and that is part of the reason we are in Kenya as we speak, ” Mathu had confirmed.
