Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire was in Nairobi last week (25.06.2019) and not only brought Kenyans some great music and some nuggets of wisdom as well.
The third member of the highly successful Major Lazer, Walshy Fire is currently traveling the world promoting his latest body of work ‘Abeng’. The 11-track project features work from Demarco, Kranium, Chris Martin as well as African acts including Mr. Eazi, Ice Prince, Runtown, Adekule Gold and even Tanzanian beauty Adekule Gold. Visiting with Capital FM’s Hits 984 crew, the rapper talks about personal growth, his craft and more importantly his last project.
Jamaican American DJ, MC and record producer Leighton Paul Walsh, better known by his stage name Walshy Fire, cautioned against clout chasers and gave some sage advice on finding balance while living in a digital world. During his interview with Miss Mandi and Neville, he went on to credit a close friend for sparking the inspiration for his latest dancehall-afrobeats EP ‘Abeng’.He said, ” I fill my life with great people…and I am blessed.”
