Simon Javan Okelo’s album promotional trek for his ‘Madaraka Vibes’ LP made a pitstop at Alliance Francaise this weekend (Friday 16).
The intimate gig saw Simon, his One Vibe Band and a horde of select guest artistes take to the Garden Stage/Terrace stage and rock the enthusiastic crowd.
From Grammy-recognized rapper Gabiro Mtu Necessary, to Apesi, Larry Dwayne, Shanariha Evans and other acts, the show was quite the sight to behold. Not to mention an appearance from legendary Genge star Jua Cali, among other industry figures.
Capital FM’s Angela Wambui and Bashir Mohamud were the night’s moderators.

Madaraka Vibes is a 9-track LP that sees the entrepreneur-cum-musician showcase his musical abilities.
Meanwhile, Okelo is gearing up for the first-ever Kenyan edition of Madaraka Festival that is slated for a December date. This comes months after the much-hyped US Madaraka Festival Tour saw a last minute cancellation. The tour was initially devised to commemorate the show’s 10-year anniversary, with Kenya’s Nyashinski and Savara as some of the headliners.
