Legendary South African jazz musician Hugh Masekela has died, aged 78.
According to a family statement, Masekela lost his battle with prostate cancer on Tuesday and passed away peacefully in Johannesburg, South Africa, surrounded by his family.
Masekela is survived by his wife, Elinam Cofie, his daughter, Pula Twala, and his son, Selema “Sal” Masekela.
