Nairobi, Kenya, October 13 – Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) General Manager Phylip Leferink has been named the Chief Executive officer replacing David Munene who served in an acting capacity since July.
Munene took over following the exit of Jon Zaidi.
Chairman of the Board, Mugo Kibati, in a statement, noted that Leferink’s appointment was ‘well informed’ owing to his vast experience of working on the wind farm.
Kibati credited Leferink for ensuring the successful completion of the wind farm on time, within budget, and in accordance with the highest international standards and ensuring a smooth transition into the operations phase.
“Phylip is very familiar with the project having served as the General Manager of the Company from August 2015 to July 2018 with the overall responsibility of the construction management,” he said.
He has over twenty years of international experience in developing and executing large-scale infrastructure projects across five continents with a focus on Eastern/Southern Africa.
