Menstruation is a natural cycle that happens after 28,29 or 30 days every month. Menstruation pains, cramps or dysmenorrhea is discomfort experienced by most ladies during their menstrual cycle.
Menstruation cramps are experienced differently depending on many factors and the individual. It can be severe to others or mild to some. They are ways, however to lessen the pains.
Take herbal tea
If you are a tea lover this is probably the best time to have herbal tea. The anti-inflammatory components found in herbal tea may be just the thing for you. Hibiscus tea, ginger or chamomile tea are examples of herbal tea you can use. It is important to check with your doctor first before taking this herbal tea.
Do yoga, light exercises
A stretch is all you need when the time arises, yoga at its best. Heavy weights are the best to be avoided. Keep your exercises light. Walking, jogging and connecting with nature is a nice treat for the body.
Maintain a balanced diet
This is the best time to avoid processed food. A balanced diet consisting of mostly greens and fruits is beneficial. Foods rich in vitamin D, iron and omega 3 fatty acids. Chicken, fish, liver and nuts just but a few would be beneficial during this period.
Get plenty of rest
Work gets harder during this time. Overworking yourself may increase stress level. Fatigue can increase stress levels and make you extra low.
Warm bath
The tension that you feel when you are cramping may feel better after you get a warm bath. The muscles relax giving you a better feeling. Drinking warm water is also a boost. A hot water bottle on your belly will also ease the pain.
Seek medical advice
Taking a pain killer is also okay. Menstrual cramps may be a little bit overwhelming, seeking medical attention will be a major gain for you. A doctor will prescribe an antidote or diagnosis that will be beneficial.
Menstruation is a normal biological occurrence. Selfcare is the remedy when period cramping occurs. Get hydrated and try to decrease stress levels. It is important to also wear versatile and comfy clothes.
