Police officers in Rongai are pursuing 6 robbers captured by surveillance cameras robbing a woman at gunpoint.
Footage of the incident leaked early Monday morning and shows the unsuspecting woman driving into her compound at 2:19 am after a lady opens the gate. The latter, upon noticing the robbers, flees into the house and is trailed by one of the thugs. Meanwhile, the 6, brandishing an AK-47, pistol and machete descend on the woman who has locked the door after it dawns on her that she has been ambushed.
One of the robbers breaks the driver’s side window, prompting the lady to open the door. They ransack the car and take away the driver’s handbag. After, they lead her into the house and are once again by CCTV footage ransacking it. They take away assorted valuables that seemingly include a soundbar and tablets. They then slam her on the couch, pull out one of her shoes, slap her then lead her into another room. It is not exactly clear what ensues after.
Confirming the incident, Kajiado North sub-county police commander Mecha Mogeni and assured investigations are underway and progress has been made pursuing the attackers.“The lady has shown us the CCTV footage and I can assure you that you will get news about the attackers very soon. We will have them in custody. Allow us time to get to the bottom of this,” He says in his statement.
