If there is a rule of thumb that Kenyans on Twitter abide by, is that they will drag you to the ends of the earth if you fall short of their grace. More often than not, the culmination of that is heralded by comments that do not align with the beliefs of KOT. Such is the fate that befell Twitter user, one Ochieng.
On January 6, he sent out a tweet that he likely did not anticipate would blow up. “But at 25 you shouldn’t be living in your father’s house,” It read. That marked the onset of a Twitter wild fire. Ridicule, sarcasm and jest-laden tweets responding to the assertion took over.
One thing is apparent: People did not agree with the perception, as they called out his warped take on a concept as complex as moving out of home. Given the different variables, a rigid set standard may not necessarily work for everyone.
