The official Madaraka Festival lineup is out, and it is nothing short of spectacular! In an official invite-only event held at Manyatta in Kisumu, CEO Simon Javan Okelo among other stakeholders of the show announced the performers’ to attendees.
This edition, a one of its kind as it is the first ever Kenyan edition, will see some of the biggest names names in music take to the stage on Saturday, December 14. The festival will be headlined by all the heavyhitters: Eddy Kenzo, Khaligraph Jones, Johnny Junior, Coster Ojwang, Apesi, Simon Okelo, Shamir Tadeiya, Shari Afrika, Shanariha Evans, Gabiro Mtu Necessary and Aqueeno Chogo.

The festival themed on music, freedom and power will also see performances by Kenyan DJs Pskratch, VES as well as Malawi’s Queen Agness. MCs Steel, Tall, Winnie Wadera, and TraeAnna Holiday will preside over the music-intensive evening.
With this edition’s tagline dubbed ‘Omena Celebration for a Better Future,’ it will mark the first time Madaraka Festival goes down in Kenya since its inception in 2014. This edition comes hot in the heels of CEO Okelo’s new album ‘Madaraka Vibes’ that has been submitted for Grammy Consideration.
Earlier this year, a last minute cancellation saw the planned US tour of Madaraka Festival become a no-show after visa issues pertaining to some of the headlining artistes like Nyashinski and Savara arise.
