15 young Kenyans have an opportunity to attend the One Young World Summit in South Africa later this year courtesy of Kenya Power.
One Young World is a global forum for young people that aims to connect young and bright representatives from every country to ensure their concerns, opinions and solutions are heard and taken into account by those in positions of power.
In 2012, Kenya Power sponsored 10 Kenyans to the same summit held in Pittsburgh, USA. This year, KPLC will help fifteen of the most outstanding and impactful young Kenyans to participate as ‘Delegates’ in the Johannesburg Summit.
Young people between the age (18-30) are encouraged to apply to be considered as the Kenyan delegates. Other criterion includes:
You must demonstrate leadership potential and skills
You must show teamwork
You must be able to show concern about and grasp of global and local issues
You must demonstrate an ability to generate and articulate impactful ideas
You must have a commitment to volunteering or other extracurricular activity (description and evidence of tangible community impact will be required)
You must be able to prove Kenyan nationality and be a current resident.
