What else is likely to have Coldplay trend the world over for hours on end other their hit music? A cheating scandal is what. Such is the fate that befell Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the HR lead of his company Kristin Cabot.
Social media has been awash with memes, opinions and diverse takes since a video showing the true affectionately cuddling and hugging as displayed on a Jumbotron at a Coldplay concert in Boston quickly gained prominence. After seeing their reflection, the two would quickly attempt to hide their faces in shame but it was evidently too late.
Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin reacted to the incident saying, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” The clip caught on like a whirlwind as the internet called out for their inappropriate behavior, as it would come out, Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan, who has since removed the Byron surname from her social media profiles and ostensibly made her accounts private.
While the two have yet to comment on the scandalous occurrence, it goes without saying that the next boardroom meeting at the New York-based firm will be mighty awkward.
Oh, keen internet sleuths have unearthed an excerpt from Cabot’s old LinkedIn that eerily reads: “I have been energised in my conversations with Andy Byron and the Astronomer leadership team about the opportunities that exist here..”
