Reggae star Chronixx has officially announced his long-awaited second studio album titled ‘Exile’.
Set to be released later this year, ‘Exile’ marks his first full-length project since the Grammy-nominated ‘Chronology’ in 2017.
During a show-stopping headlining performance at Reggae Land on Sunday night, the Jamaican singer thrilled over 30,000 fans not only with hits from his catalog like ‘Skankin Sweet’ and ‘Smile Jamaica’ but also with a powerful moment of revelation.
Mid-set, Chronixx picked up his guitar and introduced a brand-new track: “This one is called ‘Don’t Be Afraid’, from the upcoming album ‘Exile’, coming this 2025, believe it or not,” he told the crowd.
The announcement comes after a relatively quiet period for Chronixx. His 2014 EP ‘Dread & Terrible’ and 2017’s ‘Chronology’ both reached the top of the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, with ‘Chronology’ earning him a Grammy nomination. He later stepped back from the spotlight, with ‘Never Give Up’ in April 2022 marking his last solo single.
Reggae Land, the UK’s biggest reggae festival and one of the largest in Europe, drew over 70,000 attendees across its two-day run. The 2025 edition boasted an all-star lineup featuring performances from Mavado, Dexta Daps, Protoje, Lila Iké, Gyptian, Kabaka Pyramid, YG Marley, Capleton, Marcia Griffiths, and many more.
