Ex-Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe is showing off grown son Zahari and showering him with motherly affection.
The anchor, who in the last few years has been embattled by courtroom wrangles, posted a picture of Zahari, who she shares with comedian Eric Omondi, planting a kiss on her, flanked by an in-depth caption admitting she had a rough pregnancy with him. “I am very particular about my son. I am so invested in his well being. I am his mother not for the name but for his life. So many times I would have lost him during that pregnancy, “ read her post in part.
In the same post, Maribe admitted she had no idea she was with child when she learnt of the pregnancy. This, she says, was owing to the fact that she had suffered several miscarriages while trying to conceive that she almost gave up. “One day, while in South Africa, a good friend of mine told me “uko na mood swings kama za mtu ako na mimba.” We laughed but to be honest it was the hardest trip I did, I was throwing up literally all the time. But I didn’t think I could have been pregnant. Because baby’s daddy Eric Omondi had said we wait a while,” she continued.
Maribe further owned up to being an overly protective mother and warned she would have a bone with anyone who dared put harm her son’s way: “ So when you see me being an overly protective mum, you know. And anyone who harms my child is the devil reincarnated.”
Perhaps acknowledging the shout out by Maribe, Omondi posted the same picture and captioned it, ‘My people.’
The two media personalities are synonymous with good co-parenting and on occasion, they let followers in on their parenting escapades with pictures of parents and child on safari and dates.
