Johnson Arthur Sakaja has this morning (25.08.2022) taken oath of office as the new Nairobi Governor.
Sakaja was sworn into office at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi at a ceremony attended by President-Elect William Ruto.
He has taken over from Anne Kananu who succeeded Mike Sonko when he was impeached last year.

Sakaja and his children take over the red carpet.
Sakaja attended the swearing in ceremony accompanied by his three children. The new Governor has two sons and a daughter named Emily.
He then posed for photos before walking down a red carpet as he waved to members of the public who attended the function.
Nyashinski gives an amazing performance.
Popular Kenyan music act Nyashinski performed during the swearing in ceremony held at the KICC. He gave wonderful renditions of his top songs like ‘Hayawani’ and ‘Marathon Runner’ alongside producer Cedo.
Nyashinski arrived at the venue accompanied by his fashionista wife Zia Bett.
After his performance, he wished his long-time friend Sakaja the best.
“Congratulations to my friend governor-elect Johnson Sakaja. It is my honor to perform at this event today and as Nairobi people, we put our trust in you. We know you will do your best.”

The much anticipated ceremony was the center of attraction in the city this morning with various celebrities and personalities gracing the event.
The famous attendees include, veteran media personality Jimmy Gathu and radio personality Massawe Japanni who were the emcees. Media personality Shaffie Weru, singer and podcaster Ben Cyco, Matatu Association Chairman Jamal Roho Safi, Food for education founder Wawira Njiru among many others.
The new Nairobi county boss has vowed to make Nairobi and the lives of city dweller better.
