Popular content creator Tabitha Gatwiri has passed away, leaving a void in Kenya’s creative community.

According to reports, Gatwiri, known for her vibrant humour and engaging skits on platforms like TikTok, succumbed to a brief illness.

Her body was tragically found in her residence, and police have launched an investigation into her sudden death, noting she had recently voiced concerns about her health.

Gatwiri’s remains have been transferred to the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary. Her passing has sparked an outpouring of grief among fellow content creators, influencers, and fans alike, who have shared messages of shock and sorrow across social media, remembering her for her unique spirit and warmth.

The 29-year-old gained widespread attention with a viral skit about a fictional “university boyfriend” and his exaggerated romantic gestures, a piece she later clarified was purely comedic.

Hailing from Isiolo County, she was the eldest in a family of five siblings, with three sisters and two brothers.
