An unknown number of gunmen have taken siege at the Garissa University in Garissa. Unconfirmed reports say there is an ongoing exchange of fire between the gunmen and security forces, with a number of students held hostage in one of the hostels. Several students say they heard gun shots and explosions from 5.30am when. Some students managed to escape but there are reports that two guards at the University have been killed. We will update us we get more information.
