What’s better than the unparalleled Queen of Rap taking the stage in the motherland as she continues her tour trail? Likely nothing else.
The good news is out – Nicki Minaj is set to jet to Morocco to headline the Mawazine Festive, one of the biggest festivals on the continent. The long-reigning Queen of HipHop will bring her Pink Friday 2 World Tour to the North African country, at the OLM Souissi, in the Moroccan capital of Rabat. The legendary HipHop icon tops the bill of the revered festival, that will also see performances from stars like Egyptian singer Mohamed Ramadan.

Having dropped the hit album in December last year, the lyrical goddess would embark on the tour just months later and has been records since. She has just concluded the North American leg of the tour, making history as the first female rapper to sell out 36 consecutive world tour shows. RnB singer Monica served as the leg’s official guest artiste.
The Mawazine festival’s past billing boasts of blockbuster names in music. Mariah Carey, Rihanna Bruno Mars and Whitney Houston are some of the revered acts that have headlined the show in years past.wa Karam are set to kick off the festivities, followed by international acts such as DJ Marc Kinchen and K-pop sensation ATEEZ, marking their historic debut at the festival.
This year, the festival makes a comeback after a 4-year hiatus initially occasioned by the COVID 19 pandemic.
