After multiple reports came out alleging that Flossin Mauwano is the brains behind conspicuous graffiti plastered on one of the outgoing government’s biggest projects, he has now come out to refute the claims.

Mauwano, real name Stephen Mule, started making the headlines after pictures of his name written on one of the pillars on the Nairobi Expressway that had Kenyans excited, especially after it emerged the idea stemmed from Mauwano’s quest to pay homage to his parents whose death he witnessed; they were knocked down on Lang’ata Road in 1997. He has previously paraded his name on places he considers blacspots on major Nairobi Highways.
As social lit up with divergent opinions as regards the graffiti, Mauwano has cleared the air that he is not behind the inscription after all. “People have been asking how I got all the way up, but to be honest, Flossin Mauwano is a movement and one of my fans probably did it. Just so to be clear, I am not the one who wrote the graffiti. Actually, I am in awe of how the ardent fan got the signature up there…it’s a puzzle,” He reveals in an interview with the Standard.

He has further distanced himself from claims of involvement in criminal gangs.
