NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 30 – Enwealth’s Money Market Fund assets rose 91 per cent to Sh2.03 billion in the six months to June 2026, up from Sh1.07 billion a year earlier, as investors increased allocations to the low-risk fund.

The fund was the biggest contributor to the investment firm’s performance, with investment income rising to Sh94.2 million from Sh84.3 million.

Profit after tax increased 8.7 per cent to Sh79.5 million from Sh73.1 million, according to unaudited financial statements for the period ended June 30.

The growth in the Money Market Fund was accompanied by increased investments in Enwealth’s other products, including its Balanced, Dollar Money Market and Equity funds.

Investments in the Balanced Fund rose to about Sh20 million from Sh6.1 million, representing a 229 per cent increase. Investment income more than six-fold to Sh2.62 million from Sh385,000.

The Dollar Money Market Fund recorded a 75 per cent increase in investments to US$1.19 million from US$680,269.

Investment income from the dollar fund rose to US$29,348 from US$17,322, while profit after tax increased to US$22,874 from US$14,031.

The Equity Fund recorded investment income of Sh2.05 million, up from Sh1.60 million a year earlier. Its investment balance stood at Sh10.4 million at the end of June.

Enwealth Financial Services Managing Director Simon Wafubwa attributed the growth in the money market fund to investors’ preference for liquidity and capital preservation, while the expansion of the equity and dollar funds reflected increased diversification.

“The scale of growth in money market assets points to the continued importance investors place on liquidity and capital preservation in the current market environment,” Wafubwa said.

The growth comes as investors increasingly use collective investment schemes to access professionally managed portfolios across different asset classes and currencies.

Enwealth’s unit trust platform offers money market, equity, dollar-denominated and fixed-income investment products.
