Content creator Elodie Zone and close friend-turned-housemate Mary Kate have had a nasty falling out over supposed rent arrears on the latter’s part.
Giving an account of the happenings, Elodie said they had moved in together on grounds that they split the bills among those rent, that she says Kate fell back on. This, she says, went on for three months before Zone asked her to move out of the house. She says she helped for her food and other utilities before asking her to leave after Kate did not meet their agreed terms, after which Kate left the house in a mess.
“We moved here with the agreement that bills would be split. This is somebody whose rent I’ve been paying for since November, I bought her a bed, mattress, I have paid for her food, shelter, whatever you can think of, and today is the day that she finally moved out after I asked her to,” exclaimed Elodie.
She gave followers a glimpse into the state of the house after Kate’s departure, alleging she left parts of the house in a deplorable state by means of video clips posted to her Instagram. Elodie went on to say Kate was not responsive despite her efforts to reach out, so she took it to social media.
Responding to the allegations, Kate spoke on going down the legal road, “Mkay fashion house would like to distance itself from the false and defamatory statements made. We continue to offer exemplary services to our clients. We have sought legal redress and our lawyers will respond accordingly in due time,” she wrote on her social media.
Not backing down either, Elodie hit back, “Marykate if you want to go legal you have my number and my email is public, suing you will make it a lot easier for me actually. Also the debt you owe is for February. There’s still January and December of 2021, I’d like you to pull up receipts.”
The friends have lived together since November last year.
