Wilderness
Wilderness a six episode adaptation by Marnie Dickens of BE Jones thriller of the same name, starring Liv (Jenna Coleman) and Will Taylor (Oliver Jackson) who are newlyweds. Liv has followed her husband to New York, where he has landed a job as a hotel events manager. They don’t get to revel in marital bliss for long, Liv uncovers video evidence that her husband is having an affair. After the initial shock subsidies, Liv accepts Wills conciliatory offer of a belated honeymoon- a California road trip- and plots to kill her husband by pushing him off the edge of the Grand Canyon or drowning him on a water rafting trip. Neither plans results in the outcome she hoped for, but she knows she has more chances on this trip.
Accused
Accused an anthology series, created by Jimmy Mcgovern, presented itself as an exercise in moral deliberation. Each episode is a fast-paced provocative thriller, exploring different crime, in a different city, with an entirely original cast. The show features a range of different genre, from drama to thriller to romance and explores complex themes. Told from the defendant point of view through flashback, each episode adds depth complexity to each character’s story and keeps the audience guessing about the outcome of the trial until the very end.
City on Fire
City on fire an eight episode limited series adapted from Garth Risk 2015 novel with the same name. Mercer (Xavier Clyde) is flagging down emergency vehicles after he finds Sam inside Central Park suffering from gunshot wounds. A teen, Charlie is seen running in the opposite direction. Before Sam, encounters her assailant, she exists at an intersection of several disparate worlds. She’s fallen in with an arson crew and through an affair she’s also connected to the Hamilton Sweeneys.
Special OPS Lioness
Inspired by a real CIA program, ‘Lioness’ that used female military personnel with high value terrorism targets who form relationships with suspected leaders’ wives, girlfriends and female family members to gather intelligence. Joe (Zoe Saldana) an experience marine incharge of Lioness, attempts to balance her personal and professional life. The Lioness program, overseen by Kaitlyn (Nicole Kidman), enlists an aggressive Marine raider named Cruz (De Oliveria) to operate undercover. It maintains edge-of-your-seat suspense.
Hijack
Following a plane hijacking that plays out in real time, Hijack delivers entertaining escapism from the moment Sam (Idris Elba) a corporate negotiator steps onto the Kingdom Airlines flight. Not long after the plane gets in the air, a group of gun-trotting hijackers take over and Sam finds himself at the centre of international drama.
Twisted Metal
Twisted metal, based on the classic play station game series, takes place 20 years after some kind of disaster turned the US into a wasteland. There are still major cities, but they’re all surrounded by walls to protect them from the lawless world outside. The series span ten episodes following a milkman named Joe Doe(Anthony Mackie) who is presented with an opportunity of a lifetime: pick up a package in Chicago and deliver it on schedule and he gets to live inside the safe haven known as New San Francisco.
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart
Based on Holly Ringland’s bestselling book of the same name, follows Alice Hart a nine year old who is dreaming of setting her father on fire and freeing her mother Agnes from an abusive marriage. After her family suffers a tragedy, she’s forced to leave her home and she’s put into the care of her formidable grandmother June (Sigourney Weaver). June owns and runs a flower farm that secretly doubles as a refugee for women (known as flowers). The narrative jumps halfway through the season to Alice as a young adult and an unexpected betrayal sends her reeling and she flees to the Australian desert. It’s a tale of the enduring suffering caused by male violence against women.
Young Love
Picking up where Hair Love left off, Young Love, follows Music producer Stephen Love(Scott Mescudi), hairstylist/vlogger Angela Young (Issa Rae) and their daughter, navigating life like any other family; millennial parents struggling to balance work and home following Angela’s cancer recovery.
