Headliner Desiigner performed in Africa for the first time but got a rude shock in ‘Nai-robbery’.
The artist who shot to fame after the track “Panda” visited the +254 as part of a trio of artists that included Stefflon Don and Bas who were set to thrill fans at the Jameson Connects stage. The 21-year-old from New York was introduced to a lively crowd and kept revelers’ energies high with his music. Eventually, he got into the crowd, in an attempt to be one with the people. However, his good-natured attempt to connect with his fans failed when members of the audience tried to rob him of his sneakers, diamond watch, and ring.

The crowd attacked the hyped rapper, grabbing his underwear and belt exposing his behind to the public. The rapper’s security came to the rescue taking the famed rapper back to the main stage, away from the hooligans in the crowd.

The “Timmy Turner” crooner is known for his hustler mentality, growing up with next to nothing. A Bed Stuy native, the New Yorker in him could not stay quiet as he almost got robbed of his precious possessions. He addressed the crowd, saying “I am just like you…I come here to help you and you help me…so do not steal from me.” The situation was quickly handled as security escorted out the perpetrators.
Despite the small hiccup, the event was a huge success as Stefflon Don and rapper Bas rocked the stage.
Local acts King Kaka, Nyashinski and Naiboi kept the crowd engaged. The night was full of shockers as Kristoff and Magix Enga also joined King Kaka during his set. The King also gave out his latest album “Eastlando Royalty” to fans at the event. Savara also made a surprise appearance on stage with Nyashinski for the track “Short N Sweet.”
