DCI Arrests Woman Over Alleged Misuse of Social Media
Problems with the hugely popular service were reported by monitoring site Downdetector and user complaints on social media on Tuesday

NAIROBI, Kenya Jun 30 – Detectives have arrested a woman in Mombasa over the alleged improper use of social media in a case the authorities say raises national security concerns.

The suspect known online as Princess Halima, was arrested during a targeted operation in the Kazandani area after investigators linked her to an X (formerly Twitter) account under investigation.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the account was allegedly used to publish sensitive information relating to the movements of protected persons.

Police said the matter is being investigated as a potential threat to national security.

The suspect remains in police custody undergoing processing ahead of her arraignment in court as investigations continue.
