Comedy King Eric Omondi and Awilo Longomba release lingala jam about ‘walalez’

Eric Omondi is now a musician and he has teamed up with Congolese singer Awilo Longomba release his first official single dubbed ‘Tiko Tiko.’

Released yesterday (30.10.19) ‘Tiko Tiko’ is a collaborative effort between the Kenyan comedy king who is known to make viral parodies and world acclaimed Congolese star Awilo Longomba who is famed for hit songs such as ‘Coupe Bibamba’, ‘Enemy Solo’ and ‘Karoline’.

The song which has since garnered over 50,000 views in less than 24 hours is a feel-good song that combines the rich lingala flavour with Kenya’s gengetone vibe.

The song starts off with Awilo bigging up Bonfire Adventures CEO Simon Kabu. Then the Rhumba maestro proceeds to sing in Swahili and Sheng to praise women saying “Hawa watoto mang’eus wananichanganya, ukitaka katika peleka kiuno sawa sawa” assing that “Wanasema napenda malalez… warembo ndio wananipenda.”

Omondi who has recently made headlines by finally admitting that he fathered former news anchor Jacque Maribe’s son goes on to emphasis Awilo’s message by singing about a woman from Rongai who wants to shop in Dubai and party in Nairobi. He adds he likes a woman who has it her life together, who cooks and is good in bed.

Awilo jetted into the country to shoot to the video to the song a few days ago in the Nairobi CBD. He has also been spotted having a good time at the Maasai Mara alongside Eric Omondi and his family as well as hanging out with Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade.
