This year’s Coachella will not require proof of vaccination or negative COVID tests, contrary to initial stipulations.
After announcing that COVID-related barriers would be put in place late last year, Coachella and Stagecoach have retracted their word and said none of those will be needed to be allowed entry into the two-weekend festival. No COVID tests, proof of being vaccinated or masks will be demanded of attendees.
“Festival Admission Update: As we prepare to spend an incredible weekend in the desert together we are announcing that there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Stagecoach 2022, in accordance with local guidelines,” reads a tweet on the Stagecoach account.
Coachella organizers added that the lifted restrictions will be in accordance to California state health guidelines and could be reinstated in respect to changing public health conditions. Coachella may not have put out a social media announcement, but safety guidelines on their websites have been updated. “In accordance with local guidelines, there will be no vaccination, testing or masking requirements at Coachella 2022,” reads their statement.
The California Department of Public Health last week issued that vaccination proof will not be entry requirements for outdoor events, after the latter announced requirements for the same in October lat year.
This year’s Coachella comeback will take place on two consecutive weekends, April 15-17 and April 22-24 and will be headlined by Kanye West, Harry Styles and Billie Eilish.
