One of the most successful Nigerian releases, CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti,’ has hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.
CKay, real name, Chukwuka Ekweani, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and music producer signed to one of the world’s most renowned record labels, Warner Records. He released the song in 2019 to massive critical acclaim, seeing it become one of the biggest African records in the last few years. It was off of his ‘CKay The First’ album. ‘Love Nwantiti’ together with all its remixes have racked up a whopping 1 billion streams on the popular streaming platform.
The feat makes him the first Nigerian artiste to achieve the milestone with just a single song. CKay also became the first African artiste to amass 30 million monthly listeners on Spotify in the last year.
