Controversial City lawyer Donald Kipkorir has a bone to pick with Standard Group on behalf of Sports CS Amina Mohamed.
A week ago as reported by The Sauce, Kipkorir sued NRG radio station for violating marathoner Eliud Kipchoge’s privacy rights and now he is back to write up a lawsuit against Standard Group for libel.
According to documents shared on Twitter by the lawyer, Standard Group defamed Sports, Culture & Heritage Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed by printing fake news regarding the state of the Kenyan National Women Netball team in South Africa.

Reports that have since went viral alleged that our National Women’s Netball Team was shamefully stranded and hungry while representing Kenya at the Africa Championships in Cape Town. Kenyans on Twitter went on to widely share the reports as well as condemn the Sports ministry and the CS dubbing her the Minister for congratulations.
The subject became a huge topic of discussion yesterday (23.10.19) on social media following the Standard Group story and a compelling tweet by radio presenter Carol Radull. Many weighed in on the matter using #ShameOfRepresentingKenya and Minister For Congratulations.

The document marked very urgent by Kipkorir’s law firm KTK advocates deemed the article misleading, fake and false. It further demanded that the defamatory report by The Standard be retracted on all their platforms and apologize to the Cabinet Secretary.
Capital Sports this morning (24.10.19) reported that the claims of the Netball team being stranded in the South African city were unfounded as the team’s representative confirmed that they were okay and that they did not have issues with hotel bills as previously reported.
