Controversy has continually brewed since Chris Brown revealed that his American Music Awards performance was cancelled last minute despite weeks of rehearsal.
Multi-talented singer Ciara has since posted rehearsal footage of what would have been their Michael Jackson tribute performance, and it shows the Body Party singer and the Under the Influence crooner in a dance studio backed by dancers. The video then transitions into the singer dancing solo, and showcasing Jackson’s characteristic ‘moonwalk’ routine.
The AMAs have courted backlash since Brown let it known about the unprecedented cancellation of his performance. During the award show, the ‘Party’ singer won the Favorite Male RnB artiste in absentia. Grammy-winning singer Kelly Rowland presented him with the award amid boos from the audience, which she sternly. “Excuse me, chill out!” The Destiny’s Child alum told AMAs attendees amidst the boos. “I want to tell Chris thank you so much for making great R&B music and I want to tell him thank you for being an incredible performer. I’ll take this award, bring it to you. I love you. Congratulations.”
Ciara and Chris Brown are revered for their performance skills and have both been by the Smooth Criminal singer. They have both paid to the late superstar in the past.
