Jhene Aiko is to host this year’s Grammy Awards premiere ceremony which will be held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
The Grammy-nominated singer will host the pre-show where most trophies are awarded and will be streamed live on the Grammy’s website ahead of the 63rd edition of the annually-held ceremony. As well as being the host for the Grammys ceremony, Jhene has also been nominated for 3 nominations namely ‘Best Progressive R&B Album’, ‘Album of the Year’ “Chilombo”, and ‘Best R&B Performance’ for “Lightning and Thunder” featuring John Legend.
The “Bed Peace” singer is the first host of the Premiere Ceremony where one nominee gets to host while being a nominee in the prestigious category Album of the Year.

The majority of the Grammy Awards will be presented during the premiere ceremony. The Premiere Ceremony will kick off with a vast ensemble of previous Grammy nominees (including Gregory Porter, Afro-Peruvian Jazz Orchestra, Regina Carter, and Kamasi Washington) performing Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)” in tribute to the late legend.
In addition to that, the Grammys pre-show will feature performances by rapper Burna Boy, singer Rufus Wainwright, jazz band Terri Lyne Carrington + Social Science, pianist Igor Levit, singer Poppy, and Latin electropop musician Lido Pimienta.
