Nigerian Rema is cementing his place in the international music space this year!
The acclaimed crooner received six nominations for the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.
The Nigerian star received nominations for Top Afrobeats Artist, Top Radio Song, Top Collaboration, Top Billboard Global 200 Song, Top Billboard Global (Exclusive U.S.), and Top Afrobeats Song.
As reported by The Sauce, with 20 nominations, Taylor Swift is first on the list. With 17 nominations, SZA and Morgan Wallen are a close second.
Other African stars who received nominations include Cameroonian singer Libianca and fellow Nigerians Oxlade, Victony as well as Ayra Starr.
His 2023 global success has been fueled by his hit song ‘Calm Down,’ which climbed to number three on the Billboard Hot 100 following its release.
