Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has been nominated for the 2021 MTV EMAs Awards.
The ‘Waaah’ hitmaker has been nominated in the Best African Act category at the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards as the only East African artist alongside Wizkid (Nigeria), Tems (Nigeria), Focalistic (South Africa) and Amaarae (Ghana).
This is not the first time that the Bongo superstar has been nominated for the coveted awards, the father of four won the 2015 African Act award beating South African rapper AKA.
Singer Justin Bieber leads the nominations for the 2021 MTV EMAs, with eight nods.
Among the 27-year-old singer’s potential haul is the coveted Best Artist accolade, which will see him go up against the likes of Doja Cat, who has six nominations.
The Awards gala will go down on November 14, 2021 at the at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Budapest, Hungary.
