Bongo songstress Nandy is the first female East African musician to garner 10M views on YouTube

Popular Tanzanian musician Nandy has landed on the history books thanks to her hit song ‘Ninogeshe’.


She has become the first female musician from the East African region to have a song with over 10 million views on YouTube.

In an Instagram post, Nandy who is preparing for Nandy Festival thanked her team and fans for making it possible to achieve the milestone.

‘Ninogeshe’ which was released a couple of months ago, has managed over 10 million views, making it the most-watched video on YouTube by a female artist from the East African region.

Apart from ‘Ninogeshe’, she is known for her other songs that include; ‘Wasikudanganye’, ‘Aibu’, ‘Nigande’ among others. She also released her debut album titled ‘African Princess’.

Early this year, she worked with Kenyan musician Willy Paul to produce ‘Hallelujah’ which elicited a lot of reactions online and so far garnered over six million views. The two have also collaborated on the hit, ‘Njiwa’.
