Senior Director of Public Communication Munyori Buku says the group identifying itself as Uhuru Mashinani has been falsely enticing members of the public to give them money with the promise that President Kenyatta will reward them with land.
“The claims are false and those behind them are misusing the name of the President,” Buku stated. “For the avoidance of doubt,” he reiterated, “there is no such land on offer.”
The State House Director has therefore urged those who have fallen prey to the fraudsters to demand their money back and report those behind the scheme to the nearest police station.
“The police should arrest and prosecute those implicated,” he said.
Buku told Capital FM News that the conmen have so far orchestrated their cons in Mathare, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Nakuru, Rongai, Kiambu, Laikipia, Embu and Kajiado.
