The Atheists in Kenya in Kenya has implored president William Ruto’s government to implement a one-child policy in Kenyan households in a press statement.
Kenya is facing a youth bulge. 75% of the Kenyan population is aged below 35 years old. Youth unemployment in Kenya is currently as high as 35%. Studies also indicate that Kenya has one of the highest levels of children born out of wedlock in Africa.
“We urge President Ruto’s government to implement a one-child policy to control the population in Kenya. A one-child policy will provide many advantages for future generations, both socially and economically. A decrease in the Kenyan population will lead to less competition among citizens for jobs and unemployment will be alleviated,” Reads their statement.
Their statement comes hot in the heels of a viral video depicting thousands of NYS graduates swarming Embakasi Barracks in pursuit of employment slots with the Kenya Defence Forces.
