The countdown is on! American rapper Fabolous is set for his maiden performance in Kenya.
The 45-year old hitmaker is set to entertain revelers at the newly-opened Sk8city, which is East Africa’s first roller-skating rink at the Diamond Plaza II on Thursday, 11th August, 2023.
In a video seen by The Sauce, the elated ‘Into You’ crooner confirmed his upcoming show and urged his fans in the country to turn up and celebrate 50 years of hip hop.
Popular Disc jockeys G Money, John Rabar, Fully Focus, Dj Syd are expected to perform alongside Fabolous.
Tickets to the event go for Kshs 5,000 (regular) 10,000 (VIP) and 20,000 (VVIP). For a VIP table of 6, its Kshs 50,000 and the VVIP equivalent is Kshs 90,000.
He gained prominence with his first release, Ghetto Fabolous (2001), which spawned the hit singles ‘Can’t Deny It’ (featuring Nate Dogg) and ‘Young’n (Holla Back)’. His second release was 2003’s Street Dreams, which was supported by two US top 10 singles, ‘Can’t Let You Go’ (featuring Lil’ Mo) and ‘Into You’ (featuring Tamia or Ashanti).
Sk8city is all the rage right now with many Nairobians flocking to this new chill spot during the weekdays and weekends. Social media has been awash with videos and photos of people having a good time at the rink. The skating rink is open to people of all ages during the day, then it transforms into a nightclub at night until 3 am.
