World-renowned American preacher and author has admitted that he has great respect for Kenyans on Twitter as they have taught him the hard way.
Speaking at the well-publicized SOAR Africa Leadership and Entrepreneurship Summit today (06.09.19) at the Kasarani Indoor Arena, the televangelist said that Kenyans on Twitter have taught him the hard way and that he has great respect for them because of how they defend themselves to the world.
“Use that same energy to market what’s good in Kenya; Tourism & products you have to offer,” added Jakes according to a tweet posted by the Summit’s organizer’s, KCB.

True to his word, back in October 2013, Kenyans on Twitter savagely roasted the now 62-year-old after he claimed that all the water “Kenyan natives” drink is due to his mission and that the only hospital in Kenya is also thanks to the work he and his ministry have done.
He then apologized for his remarks made at Potters House in Dallas while delivering a sermon in which he launched a scathing attack at the then-new reality show ‘The Pastors of LA’ castigating the show for portraying preachers in a bad light.
“An attempt in last Sunday’s sermon to distinguish myself from an American television program portraying preachers in a manner that I found unseemly has caused some offence in Kenya. For that, I apologize. My intent was to show the extensive humanitarian efforts by TD Jakes Ministries through its MegaCARE arm as a means of further distinguishing this organization from the TV program’s exclusive focus on the personal material wealth of the individual ministers over the works of the Gospel. I love Kenya and the entire continent of Africa. I am proud of its efforts and grateful to have had an opportunity to minister to its people on numerous occasions, ” apologized man of God in a statement.
As reported by The Sauce, The SOAR Africa leadership summit provides a platform where leaders and entrepreneurs have conversations on the economic progress of the continent. Bishop TD Jakes, Econet group chairman Strive Masiyiwa, head of Facebook Africa Nunu Ntshingilia, and KCB chief executive Joshua Oigara are some of the keynote speakers at the three-day event.
