Bongo star Ali Saleh Kiba, popularly known as Alikiba, commemorated his two-decade-long career in the music industry by launching his latest endeavor, Crown Media on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the prestigious Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam.
The gala event, attended by distinguished guests including former President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Minister of Information Nape Moses Nnauye, Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila, and fellow artists, underscored Alikiba’s enduring influence and significance.

Renowned for chart-toppers like ‘Huku’, ‘Mahaba’, ‘Utu’, and ‘Sumu’, Alikiba shared his journey and the motivations behind his foray into the media landscape.
“Media wields immense power; it played a pivotal role in shaping my identity as the Alikiba of today. I remember sleeping with my small radio, a gift from my father. The obstacles I encountered inspired me to offer a solution through media,” he divulged.
Delving into the choice of the name ‘Crown’ for his media conglomerate, the ‘Huku’ maestro elucidated its symbolic significance.
“Crown epitomizes the excellence we aspire to provide—a regal experience in entertainment,” articulated King Kiba.
