Huldah Momanyi Hiltsley, a Kenyan-born trailblazer, has made history as the first Kenyan-born politician to secure a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
Running under the Democratic–Farmer–Labor (DFL) Party, Hiltsley won a decisive 64.78 percent of the vote, earning the trust of residents in Minnesota’s District 38A, which includes the southwestern neighborhoods of Brooklyn Park and Osseo.
A graduate of Bethel University and a mother of two, Hiltsley was driven to pursue public office by her dedication to uplifting her community and ensuring their voices are represented in legislative decision-making.
Her campaign platform reflects a commitment to tackling the most pressing issues affecting her constituents, including affordable housing, equal access to education and healthcare, and economic opportunities tailored to the district’s unique demographics.
